Eleonora Siarava

Eleonora Siarava is a choreographer, performer and director of Per_Dance Choreographic Research Platform. She holds an MA in “Dance Making and Performance” (Coventry University) and did part of her doctoral research at Choreography and Performance MA-Institute for Applied Theatre Studies, Justus Liebig University in Giessen. She has presented her work internationally at MakeShift Festival, Moving Out Festival, Dance Days Chania, 11th and13th Festival of Greek Choreographers, Megaron Concert Hall of Thessaloniki, Start-Warehouse C, a commission by Goethe Institut Thessaloniki and Robert Bosch Stiftung, Contemporary Art Centre of Thessaloniki, International Screendance Festival Freiburg  et.al . For the piece The Body and the Other~ she was awarded with the artistic mobility grant I-portunus/Creative Europe Programme, supported by the program »Transfer International« of KULTURsekretariat – NRW, Ministry of Culture and Science of NRW and collaborated with the Mixed Reality and Visualization Institut (MIREVI, Düsseldorf) for the use of digital technology. The premiere was at TEMPS D'IMAGES Festival, Tanzhaus NRW, Düsseldorf (2020). Her choreographic installation Step-in was awarded by Megaron Concert Hall of Thessaloniki. In her work her intention is to make enigmatic multilayered performances carrying various levels of interpretation both for performers and audience through the experimentation with the relationship between aesthetic forms, experiential awareness, multisensory perception, overlapping temporalities, hybridity, atmospheres. She was a resident artist at SE.S.TA Centre for Choreographing Development (Prague), Duncan Dance Research Center (Athens), she performed for 'A different way of hearing' of Marina Abramović (Alte Oper Frankfurt) and participated at “Moving Digits” (Creative Europe) for the study of dance and digital technologies ( https://movingdigits.eu/ ). She has offered classes at the Professional Dance School of Thessaloniki, Das Plateau-Frankfurt, Tanznetz|Freiburg - Professional Training/E-WERK, National Centre for Youth of Greece, as a guest lecturer at the Theatre Studies Department of the University of Peloponnese, Centre for Dance Research/Coventry University, Plymouth University  et.al . Since 2020 is supported by the Ministry of Culture of Greece. During that time she developed the choreographic research project ‘UnderScore, Choreographic Objects and more’ and created the pieces Who knows where the time goes - potential destination #1 and BLUE BEYOND that will be presented at the National Theatre of Northern Greece (autumn 2022). www.per-dance.com
