WS 10 Connect and Redirect: Improvisation and Composition Workshop
This workshop offers space to delve into different possibilities for exploring and creating movement vocabulary. It allows participants to embrace and challenge their own movement habits/patterns and expand movement potential. Participants will be led through improvisational practices and score-led tasks, with emphasis placed on identifying how we relate and connect with others and our environment, in order to explore various movement impulses and intentions. Somatic approaches will be used in the warm-up to begin to organize our bodies. This will help establish clear, anatomical awareness and free-up mobility in the joints and spine. We will finish with compositional exercises in order to further stimulate and challenge creativity together. This workshop welcomes people of all movement backgrounds. Please be prepared for some ground-level movement.
